We are on the hunt for some of the best emerging retail businesses, artists, designers and creatives.  We are offering affordable short and mid-term opportunities in a prime retail position in the middle of Wellington CBD, to expand and grow your business.

 

This could be your first step into customer-facing retail (already have a successful online shop or Etsy presence?), launching a brand new business, or maybe your first Wellington CBD retail foray. Wherever you are in your business or creative career, we would love to hear from you.

Village details:​

  • Spring Village 2019

    • Over the school holidays and when WOW fever hits Wellington.

    • Pack in: from the afternoon 25th September.
      Pack out: all day of 15th October 

    • Location: Taranaki Wharf 

  • Summer Village 2020

    • Our longer village that is held over the summer month when tourists and cruise ship passengers flock to the waterfront. 

    • Pack in: from the afternoon 11th Dec
      Pack out: all day of 3rd March 

    • Location: Taranaki Wharf

*Please note all dates, times and details may be subject to last-minute changes due to weather or other occurrences outside our control. 

 

Cost:

  • $400 per week plus GST

  • 15% discount for stallholders who also trade weekly at Wellington Underground Market while having a pop-up shop.

  • Once approved the first two weeks rent is required as a non-refundable deposit to secure your spot. The remaining rent can be paid weekly by automatic payment, but ensuring it is paid at least one month in advance.

  • Please note there is no reduction in cost if you are allocated a second container, both containers will be invoiced at the regular price.

What are your options? 

  • A container to yourself

    • If you can run your container every day or hire staff and have the stock to fill a full container, this is a great option!

  • Share a container with one or more others

    • For whatever reason: maybe your business is just starting out, you don't have enough products yet to fill a whole container, or you only have a few days a week free to run the container, you can absolutely share one container with another (or multiple) businesses. If you don't know anyone whom you can ask, let us know, and we'll see if we can find a business who'd like to do the same. 

  • Apply to join 'The Colab'

    • You can also apply to be in our brand new Colab container, which features a curation of fresh new talent from several different artists all in one container. Showcase your best work & share costs with other emerging talents.  This option is currently limited to 6 emerging small artists/ designers in each village. The cost to be a part of this container is $50 per week for your first Village, and $100 any following villages, though we will try and showcase new talent in this container each village & instead connect you with others for future villages.
